Music Language is a no-budget festival created by Cry Parrot and Tracer Trails: collectively organised, cheap-ticketed and fun-oriented. Music Language encompasses everything from folk song to noise, ambient sounds to hardcore punk, hip hop to weird pop - plus cameo appearances from some of Glasgow's most exciting visual artists as well.
Way back in 2011, Music is the Music Language featured Muscles of Joy alongside Cut Hands, Volcano the Bear alongside Tattie Toes and Divorce. this year we've aimed for a 100% fresh lineup, meaning that many of the acts on the bill have emerged within the last twelve months.
Music Language 2012 will be happening on September 1st and 2nd across four venues in the west and the south of Glasgow: a warehouse space (SWG3), an independent community centre (Kinning Park Complex), a bonkers country & western-themed social club (The Grand Ole Opry) and a vegan cafe-bar (The 78).
Each day will also see generator-powered guerilla gigs on the fringes of the main event, and we'll be organising awesome afterparties for both nights of the festival. PLUS there'll be films, stalls and great food!
